GSuite or Gmail – which is more secure and functional?

As I launch my new website, I have to make a decision on whether I should use Gmail or GSuite utilizing the Ayda.net domain. In searching for the pros and cons, I found great info I will copy and paste below for others.

"You need to understand the difference between two. Gmail is a consumer product and you as a user do not have any control over the services which are offered like google drive, docs sheets etc . So basically whatever security features are implemented on the consumer side of Gmail are managed and implemented by Google. So the security features available to you maybe like 2 step verification , suspicious login alerts etc.

When it comes to GSuite, it is Gmail offering by Google for the enterprise to be used as a messaging and collaboration tool within the organization. The main advantage is that organization can sign up for GSuite using their domain like mydomain.com and admins have a access to admin console where they can manage their users ,setup organization level and user level policy and the needed security control offered by the organization.

So GSuite offers many security control like :

1. You can set the password complexity and expiry for your users (This is great if you have temporary staff working for you)
2. Session time out for your gmail
3.  Enforcement of 2 step verification for your users ( in gmail it is a user controlled) This is a great idea to Enhance security
4.  Audit the usage of google apps like gmail, docs , sheets etc
5. Setup up organization wide Sharing policy of docs.
6. Setup data loss prevention policy for gmail and google drive.
7. IP restrictions ,so user can access g suite service from certain IP - This is really great if you want to Lock your access down! But most of us are not on Statis IPs but Dynamically assigned IP's so this is a tough one unless you have dedicated IPs
8. Implementation of spf ,dkim and dmarc for mail security . Will need to investigate this one

These are some of the security features which are offered. So depending on your need you can implement them . So if you are organization and want to use Gmail , you should use G suite and not consumer gmail as you have no control."
