Ithica Eco Village- another self sustaining village

Ithica EcoVillage Video

This morning I was outlining ideas for the healthy Living R&D and I ran into this video. This is a great walk through of a 175 Acre Eco Village - all run by solar panels and electricity, 4 organic farms and 3 neighborhoods of 30. They are passive homes and you can watch the great video that talks about how they designed it, what hurdles they had to overcome and how it is dong right now! And You can rent a home and check it out yourself!!

The EcoVillage at Ithaca was established in 1991 and has become a mature communal village with three neighborhoods developed on 10% of the land with 90% of the land devoted to farmland and natural areas. Given that we're interested in communally living at Flock, we took quite a bit of notes from the EcoVillage, which is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. For more information, visit: https://ecovillageithaca.org/
